Terms of Service

The short version

ChargerDojo is a testing and learning tool for the Open Charge Point Interface. You can use it to simulate charging networks, inspect OCPI messages, and run conformance suites against endpoints you are entitled to test. Use it on systems you own or have permission to test, do not try to break it for other people, and treat our results as evidence rather than as a certificate.

By creating an account or using the service you agree to what follows. If you are agreeing on behalf of a company, you are confirming you may bind that company.

This is the most important section on the page, so it is not buried at the bottom.

When a suite passes, it means the checks we ran found no disagreement between your implementation's responses and the rules those checks encode. It does not mean your implementation is fully conformant, certified, or approved. No test run exercises every clause of every module against every peer, and a passing result cannot rule out a defect in a path the run never took.

ChargerDojo is not an accreditation body and issues no certification. Reports are for your own engineering use and for sharing with partners at your discretion. Any decision you make on the strength of a report, including going live with a roaming partner, is yours.

We work hard at the opposite failure too: a tester that rejects something the specification permits is as serious a defect to us as one that accepts something it forbids. If you believe a verdict is wrong, tell us and cite the clause. We will read it and correct the suite if it is wrong.

The service sends real HTTP requests to endpoints you point it at. That capability comes with one firm rule: only aim it at systems you own, operate, or have documented permission to test.

• • Test only what you are entitled to test

  Pointing a run at a third party without their permission may be unlawful where you are, and it is a breach of these terms regardless.

• • Do not use the service to attack anything

  No load generation intended to degrade a third party, no credential stuffing, no probing for vulnerabilities in systems that are not yours.

• • Do not work around the limits

  Plan limits, rate limits, and the entitlement checks are part of the service. Circumventing them, or sharing one account across an organisation to avoid them, is a breach.

• • Do not resell the service as your own

  You may share reports and use the tool in client work. You may not repackage ChargerDojo itself as a product you offer.

We may suspend an account that is breaking these rules, and we will tell you why.

Your account and your data

You are responsible for what happens under your account, including keeping your sign-in secure. Tell us promptly if you think someone else has access to it.

You keep ownership of everything you put into the service: your endpoint configuration, the scenarios you author, and the runs and reports they produce. You grant us only the permission we need to operate the service for you, such as storing a run so you can open it again and rendering a report at a link you chose to share.

What we collect and why is set out in the privacy policy. A shared report link is readable by anyone who has it, so treat one as public once you have sent it.

Plans and payment

There is a free tier that needs no payment details. Each paid plan unlocks the features listed against it on the pricing page at the time you subscribe.

Billing, renewal, cancellation and refunds are covered in full by the refund and cancellation policy, which forms part of these terms. It is the single place those rules live, so that a second copy cannot drift out of step with it.

Ownership, and the specification

The service, its software, and its learning content are ours or our licensors'. These terms give you the right to use the service, not ownership of it.

The OCPI specification is not ours. It is published by the EVRoaming Foundation and redistributed here verbatim under its own Creative Commons Attribution-NoDerivatives licence. Our rights do not extend to it, and your use of the specification text is governed by that licence rather than by these terms.

We aim to keep the service available and correct, and we do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free. The service is provided as is, without warranties of any kind beyond those we cannot exclude by law.

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, or lost business, and our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.

Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

Ending the agreement

You can stop using the service at any time. To close your account, open Settings, go to Privacy and data, and delete it there: it happens immediately. It stops and tells you what to do first if a paid plan is still running on your account or on an organisation you would take with you, if somebody else is working in your own organisation, if an invitation you sent is still outstanding, or if you are the only owner of an organisation other people use. Anything we cannot do from there is done by email, and a person answers within 5 working days and finishes the request within 30 days. What we keep afterwards, and why, is set out in the privacy policy. We may end or suspend access if these terms are breached, or if we have to for legal or security reasons.

If we discontinue the service entirely, we will give reasonable notice and a way to export your runs and reports before access ends.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the product changes. When a change materially affects your rights, we will say so on this page and update the date at the top before it takes effect. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the revised terms.
